Devon Muhlert has been a member at Gallery Vertigo since it early years. Her show this month is entited Historious/Herstorious. Devon enjoys crossing artistic disciplines from music to photography to painting and working with fabrics. Also an award-winning writer, she is a poet and photo-journalist and wrote Cadence of Colour, about Sveva Caetani. With the help of her very handy-man husband who supports her creations with practical help, Devon has maintained an active involvement with the arts community and her arts practice.  She loves to share art and fun with grandchildren.

Devon’s riper years have steered her towards history appreciation. She edited the Vernon Branch submissions for Okanagan Historical Society for over five years. History informs us about who we are by showing us our backstory. This approach helped her create two German Heraldry pieces as collages in shadow-boxes. A way to remind ourselves of the happier aspects of legacy. Other creations include fabric art fashioned in what were called embroidery hoops.  Her Prisms is a series of photographs on canvas.
