OPEN FOR CHANGE by AJ Jaeger
Eleanor Roosevelt’s quote “Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art”, inspired aj to look at the evolution of human relationships.
In using unrelated materials, she allowed herself to explore the connectivity of change. In this body of work, she combines different mediums including beeswax, metal, photography, and words to illustrate the transformation in a person’s lifetime. “This artistic expression mirrors our lives and how we often need to accommodate change, while dealing with different challenges as we travel on our journey of life,” states aj.
Discontentment is usually the fuel for change, which can be positive or negative. aj aspires to maintain and foster flexibility in her art practice.
