Sue Kennedy

Sue believes that art should be more than just visually appealing. “My mission is to create pieces that evoke emotions and memories, ” states Sue. Explore the collection and find the perfect piece that speaks to you.
Initially, Sue pursued practical studies in Commercial Art then worked hard in a 20-year career as a graphic designer in Ottawa, Canada.
While her fine art pursuits ebbed and flowed with the demands of parenthood and a full time career, it wasn’t until 2012 that Sue began to devote herself to creating art. It was then that she moved to Vancouver Island to pursue that dream. Sue has worked in many mediums such as watercolour, acrylic, mixed media and oil & cold wax medium. Most recently, she has found water soluble oils to be the perfect medium for her.
Initially drawn to the mountains and the ocean of the BC coast, Sue is now exploring the Okanagan valley, where she finds daily inspiration in her surroundings of vast lakes and fertile valleys. While in the midst of creating, she can lose herself for hours. It is her hope, that the viewer of her art can also experience this out-of-time state of bliss.
Her work will be on display from July 30 to August 31, 2024. Here is just a sampling of some of her work.
