Wanda Vincent

“I have always loved colour and different forms of art. One of my earliest school memories was getting in trouble in Kindergarten because I did not want to share my red crayon with another student. It was my favourite colour!”
“Throughout my school years I enjoyed drawing houses and rooms in them. At one point I entertained thoughts of becoming an architect. I took every design and art class I could attend in High School.”
“After graduation life got busy and art was put on the shelf until April 2023. After a series of losses, my husband and I needed a distraction and a hobby that we could do together so we took up watercolour painting.”
“There is so much joy in blending colours, painting simple streets with imperfect dwellings, of laundry hanging in the wind and rain, and power lines overhead.”
“I love capturing this ordinary, imperfect, beautiful, life in a whimsical way that stirs imagination and childlike wonder.”
“I encourage you to go out, have fun and create, and remember sometimes it is the imperfections that make a piece of art beautiful and unique.”

These and other works of Wanda’s can be seen at Gallery Vertigo from April 1st – 26th, 2025. Come and meet the artist at the opening reception on April 3rd at 6pm.
