Gallery Vertigo is proud to be 100% volunteer operated.

At Gallery Vertigo, we are always looking for people to help us run the gallery. There are various jobs and tasks that need to be done to keep us running.
Gallery Host
Attends the gallery during open hours, greets visitors, provides information to visitors on current exhibitions, window areas, studio spaces, and about the gallery and its purpose. Invites membership in the gallery. Facilitates sales of artwork and other sale items. Performs daily cleanup of gallery space.
Events co-ordination and Event Helpers
Works with Event Coordinator to plan events in advance, arranges for marketing of upcoming events, works with performers to prepare for event, facilitates the preparation of the performance space, cleanup and disassembly of the performance space, box office/ticket taking, serving refreshments, handing out programs, sales of art
Workshops
Works with Workshop Coordinator for the planning and creation of the upcoming workshop schedule, facilitating workshop events, working with workshop instructor for materials and supplies needed for workshop.
Marketing
Works with Marketing Director for the creation of content for social media platforms, creation of: blog articles, posters, other marketing materials. Documenting events at the gallery with photos and video. Preparation of press releases. Documenting changes in the gallery space for exhibitions and rental areas. Create event marketing materials. Update local community boards with upcoming exhibitions and events.
Exhibitions
Works with Exhibitions Coordinator to plan for upcoming exhibition, facilitates the hanging and take down of exhibitions, assists artists in the presentation of the exhibition, assists with proper record keeping and archiving of exhibitions, assists in calls to artists and in sourcing funding for special projects.
Fundraising
Works with Head of Fundraising to plan for fundraising events, identifies potential organizations for solicitation of funds, petitions organizations for fundraising. Helps run fundraising events.
Facilities Maintenance
Works with Facilities Manager to maintain the gallery space. Keeps mechanical functions working properly.
Sources and maintains cleaning and organization of all gallery facilities.
Grants
Works to find financial support through provincial, federal, or other grant sources either on our own, or as a collective project with other non-profit art groups.
