Join us during Culture Days and become part of a community stitchery project celebrating the history of the North Okanagan’s Grey Canal.
Come and add your own stitch to a collaborative project inspired by an important piece of our local heritage. Whether you are an experienced stitcher, have never picked up a needle before, or simply want to try something new, everyone is welcome.
No experience is necessary and all supplies will be provided. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to participate.
Never threaded a needle before? No problem! Skilled stitchers will be on hand to answer questions, demonstrate techniques, or simply help you get that needle threaded. You can learn at your own pace and enjoy the experience of creating alongside others in the community.
As the project grows, each stitch will become part of a larger story. The finished work will become a new addition to our existing public art, creating a lasting community artwork that connects our history with the people who live here today.
The activity will take place from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. from September 18 through to October 4. Come for a few minutes or stay awhile. Learn a stitch, share a story, meet others, and help create something meaningful together.
