CALL TO ARTISTS
Cards, Cd's and DVD's wanted for Gallery Vertigo's ArtSake Art Shop

Books For ArtSake
Our call to local writers and publishers for books to stock the shelves of Gallery Vertigo's gift shop/treasure trove Artsake has been very successful and we now have shelves stocked with exciting books produced by the writers in our region. Not only can visitors buy a great book at Gallery Vertigo, they can support local writers and the North Okanagan's only artist-run centre at the same time. Please think of us when shopping for gifts year round.

Now Room for  Cards
Additional space has been freed up in the shop area and we are now able to accept artist cards on consignment. Only individually packaged original cards produced by artists will be accepted. (Each card should have a matching envelope and be contained in a cellophane packet.) The gallery will retain a 20% commission on sales in the shop. We encourage artists living throughout the Okanagan region to submit their original cards on consignment.

Local musicians and film makers are also invited to submit their CD's/DVD's for sale in the shop. (Same commission applies.)

Please give Judith a call if you have any questions or if you would like to make an appointment to add your cards/CD's/DVD's to our inventory.

Gallery #1
Drew Makepeace:
Super-Valu Redux
(an evocation of the edifice)

Drew Makepeace
We shopped there a hundred times, but how often did we stop to admire the artistic form of this now-demolished architectural icon? The photographic track consists of framed photographs  which are selected images, culled from nearly 2000 photos, depicting various design elements of the SuperValu grocery store in Penticton as they were lost to demolition.(more)

Gallery #2
Dorian Kohl:
A Sustainable Model - The Artistry of Dorian Kohl

Dorian Kohl
Photographs, editorials, advertising, reflect Kohl's personal professional history, and document the evolution of her career as a model and as a stage and television actress from the early 1960’s to the present.

Window on the Street Gallery:

It's a sign!
You may have noticed that our usual gallery space in the window on 30th Avenue is now sporting a new Gallery Vertigo sign. Signage has always been needed and funds never seemed to allow for the installation of expensive signage on the outside of our building. That fact, combined with infrequent access to the window space led us to come up with this solution. Let us know how you like it.

Kalamalka Vertigo at Okanagan College:
